This Privacy Policy explains how 2 Smart Girls (Pty) Ltd (“2 Smart Girls”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, protects, and shares your personal information when you visit our website or otherwise interact with us. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and, where relevant, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECT Act”). By using our website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are and Our Information Officer

2 Smart Girls (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

Our joint Information Officers, appointed in terms of section 55 of POPIA, are:

  • Thulisile Muthle, Co-Founder
  • Ramokone Maswanganyi, Co-Founder

You can contact our Information Officers at info@2smartgirls.co.za.

2. The Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you browse the site.

Information you provide. When you contact us, book a strategy call, subscribe to updates, complete a form, or leave a comment, you may share personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, business/establishment name, and any message or property details you include.

Information collected automatically. We use tools such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, which may collect:

  • your IP address
  • the device and browser you’re using
  • pages you view and how long you stay on each page
  • how you arrived at our website

This helps us understand what content is useful and how to improve the website.

Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect what you submit along with your IP address and browser user agent string, for spam detection. An anonymised, hashed version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use that service.

3. Why and How We Use Your Information (Purpose Specification)

Per the reason we collect it, we use your information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and strategy call requests
  • send updates or marketing you’ve opted in to receive
  • improve our website content, layout, and booking-flow experience
  • analyse traffic and engagement patterns
  • keep the website secure
  • run marketing and remarketing campaigns

We only use your information for the purpose it was collected for, or a purpose you would reasonably expect. We do not sell your personal information.

Voluntary provision. Providing your information (e.g. via our contact or booking forms) is voluntary, but without it we won’t be able to respond to your enquiry or deliver the service you’ve requested.

4. Direct Marketing

In line with section 69 of POPIA, we will only send you direct electronic marketing (such as newsletters or promotional emails) if you have opted in to receive it, or where you are an existing client being contacted about our own similar services. You can opt out or withdraw consent at any time, free of charge, by using the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by emailing info@2smartgirls.co.za.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary to run our website and deliver our services, including with:

  • our website hosting provider
  • analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel)
  • email marketing and CRM platforms
  • booking and scheduling tools (e.g. our strategy call booking system)

These operators are contractually and/or legally required to keep your information secure and to use it only as we instruct.

6. Cross-Border Transfers

Some of the third-party platforms we use (see section 5) may store or process data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we only use providers that apply data protection standards that are comparable to POPIA and the GDPR, in line with section 72 of POPIA.

7. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational steps to protect your data, including:

  • SSL encryption
  • secure hosting
  • password-protected systems and controlled staff access
  • regular software updates, backups, and monitoring

Our third-party service providers are also required to maintain appropriate security standards.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law:

  • comments may be retained indefinitely to help recognise future comments
  • newsletter subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe
  • analytics data is generally retained for up to 26–38 months, depending on the platform
  • enquiry and booking form submissions are kept for as long as needed to service the enquiry, plus a reasonable period for our records

Our website uses cookies to support functionality, analyse traffic, and support marketing. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site remember preferences and understand how visitors use it.

You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings, though the site may not function fully if essential cookies are disabled. Some cookies are set by third-party tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta Pixel to measure performance and manage marketing.
